We are absolutely thrilled with The Schoolhouse Academy! Our son has gone from feeling lost in math to thriving in an advanced class in just one quarter—a transformation we never thought possible that quickly. However, what truly sets this school apart is the human quality of the teachers and management. They genuinely care about the children and their unique needs, creating an environment where every student feels supported and valued. We couldn’t have asked for a better place for our child to grow and succeed.

My husband and I are thrilled that our daughter is thriving in a school with an excellent academic program, outstanding teachers, and where the overall high standards are found throughout the school and its culture. Our daughter had previously been enrolled at a highly regarded private school from Pre-K through first grade followed by a year at a public elementary school in Stamford. Both schools were very lax in terms of their academic programs and fell far short of our expectations. The public school setting was chaotic to say the least in terms of child behavior and overall academic progress. Now, she is in the third grade at a school where she is truly happy for the first time. She is eager to learn and actually enjoys going to school. Her academic testing scores went from below average in writing and reading to fourth grade level in less than six months since being at Schoolhouse Academy. The tailored individual tutoring time and individually focused academic development plan she receives makes it possible to advance beyond her grade level in all her studies. The passion about education is evident throughout the school staff, especially Dr. Kalaboukas who is always seen walking around school talking to parents or kids. We feel that Schoolhouse Academy is one big family and we are so proud to be part of it!

When our family relocated from Manhattan to Wilton three years ago, we were in search of a close-knit community and a top-tier school system—and we found both in Wilton. But when we first heard about the opening of Schoolhouse Academy, we were intrigued because our older children were enrolled in a Charter School in NYC and the founders of SA had successfully run Charter Schools for many years. After meeting with the Leadership Team and learning more about their vision, we decided to give it a try. It wasn’t an easy decision to leave the Wilton school system, but we felt it was worth exploring.

After just one week at Schoolhouse, we knew we had made the right choice for our 6th and 4th graders. The difference was immediate. The teachers are not only highly skilled, but they are deeply passionate about what they do. The level of engagement and dedication they show is unparalleled. There is consistent communication from the school, keeping us informed about the curriculum, specific areas of focus, and the personalized support they offer to ensure our children master each subject.
What truly sets Schoolhouse apart is its focus on academic excellence, fostered through small class sizes that enable personalized attention and a tailored learning experience for every student. Math is taught by a classroom teacher in addition to a Math Master, Dr. C. Students also meet for 1 hour 1:1 with Dr. C bi-weekly. In an effort to build a rigorous and dynamic literature program that includes the study of classic works such as Beowulf, The Canterbury Tales, and Shakespeare, the school has established a Visiting Professor Program, inviting distinguished scholars to teach and engage students in deep, immersive learning experiences. Schoolhouse uses minimal technology in class and is a phone-free school.

Schoolhouse is also a tight-knit community. At recess, the students aren't just playing—they're collaborating, creating art together, and building strong friendships. They help each other with schoolwork, demonstrating a true spirit of collaboration and mutual respect that is rare to see. This isn’t just about academics; it’s about fostering a culture where every child is engaged and participates.
The relationships our children have with their teachers are not just professional—they’re personal. The teachers take the time to truly understand each child’s strengths, weaknesses, and unique personality. This personalized attention has had a profound impact on our children. They are not just challenged academically, they are excited to learn, and their curiosity is nurtured in ways that we hadn’t seen before.

In our time at Schoolhouse, we've seen our children's interest in learning skyrocket. They come home each day eager to share what they’ve learned, and they talk about their teachers with such admiration and respect. The relationships they've formed with their educators are not just a part of their school experience—they are the foundation of it.

I can honestly say that there is nothing I would change about this school. The personal attention, the rigor of the academic program, and the dedication of the teachers have made a remarkable difference in our children’s education and overall happiness. If you're looking for a school that challenges your child, fosters deep relationships, and creates a supportive, inspiring environment—Schoolhouse Academy is that place.
